Ascend needed to reduce the time-to-hire for specialist remote talent across their client base. We built Nomad — an internal platform that ingests client briefs, scores and ranks candidates from their existing talent pool using an LLM pipeline, and surfaces shortlists directly to account managers. What previously took two days of manual review now takes under an hour.

The challenge
Account managers were spending 60–70% of their time manually sifting candidate profiles against client requirements. The process was slow, inconsistent, and left senior staff with little time for relationship work.
What we built
We built an LLM-powered matching engine using GPT-4 with structured prompting, a vector store for candidate profiles, and a clean account manager dashboard. Briefs are parsed automatically; shortlists are generated and explained in plain English so AMs can act immediately.
The outcome
Time-to-shortlist dropped from 2 days to under 1 hour. Account managers recovered roughly 3 hours per day for client-facing work. The client reported a 30% improvement in client satisfaction scores in the quarter following launch.
